I must admit, between E and I, I am the one with the sweet tooth. While others do not have a cake preference in terms of design, flavor or taste, I do have a preference. Plus, we plan to serve the cake at the wedding too, so it had to be good!
It was quite easy for me to discover Chef Kiko. He is well-raved on the online wedding communities I'm a part of. In general, they were saying, Chef Kiko is approachable, accommodating and makes really good pastries. So I searched for him and found that he is from Cubao. Kapitbahay ko pa! (Well, a few streets away, but still.)
True enough, while inquiring through email, he's really nice! He would accommodate all my questions and requests, feeling ko feeling niya ang barat ko. Plus I was asking him the smallest details like, how tall each layer of the cake is. Hahaha! I wanted so much from him for a very meager amount. Granted, it's just one day for a wedding, I didn't want to spend a lot and as much as possible, we want to get the most out of our money.
So fair enough, he was giving me the most value out of everyone I inquired with. He was willing to accommodate my requests, even the slightest detail of "pwede bang more than one flavor yung cake?" Haha! I heard he made really good red velvet cakes (E and I's favorite), but he also made other enticing flavors too.
E and I are getting a three-layered wedding cake from him (and then some add ons). As part of our package, he's providing some cupcakes (to give away), satellite cakes (to serve to our guests), and a mini-candy buffet. Not bad right? :)
These were the pegs I gave him for the design (I got them all from Pinterest)--pardon the girly colors you are about to see:
